Surgical Technologist – Surgical Services

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evening Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 13:00–23:30

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist across a broad range of surgical specialties spanning 12 service lines, including general surgery, vascular, orthopedics, neurosurgery, gynecology, urology, thoracic, colorectal, ENT, bariatrics, plastics, and podiatry
• Support laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures, including cases utilizing the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Maintain strict aseptic technique, sharps safety, and proper specimen handling and labeling throughout all procedures
• Adhere to Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures and decontamination and sterilization standards
• Fulfill on-call obligations, including an expected 6 call shifts per 8-week block, with weekend and holiday coverage included
• Float to applicable areas as needed and complete pre-start modules prior to assignment start

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required (exception: candidates who worked as a surgical tech in New York prior to 2015)
• New York State license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience; 3+ years strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Familiarity with a high-volume, multi-service-line surgical environment
• Prior management or lead experience in a surgical services setting
• Experience with complex vascular, neurosurgical, or orthopedic procedures
